Learning Disabilities

motal learning disabilities dream exhibit
Walking into a classroom can be exciting for any student. But with increasing amounts of visual aids being used in the classroom, students with visual impairments can struggle. This exhibition will help visitors learn about themselves as well as gain empathy toward learning challenges. A Braille wall will provide “seeing by touching.” Multimedia stations will provide supplemental information.

Eyeglasses will be provided to visitors as they explore classroom graphics. They will experience how seeing can affect learning and comprehension. Simple acetate eyeglasses will enable visitors to view typical classroom visual aids from the perspective of various visual impairments.

Additional sections of the exhibition will explore other types of physical and emotional disabilities and share how new technologies and teaching approaches can help students learn effectively.
