Exhibition Objectives

Our visitors can:
Learn similarities as well as differences between classrooms in China and the U.S. 
  • Explore common themes running through the exhibition, such as the social impact of family goals on education.

Inspire others to learn from the exhibition.
  • Communicate major themes of the exhibition to others.
  • Invite family, friends, classmates, and school officials to visit.
  • Discuss ways individuals may benefit from aspects of both educational systems.

Relate to the concepts and stories presented.
  • Share personal experiences that add to understanding of classrooms in the United States, China, or elsewhere.
  • Read to learn more through online resources, texts, films, and/or literature.

Improve their own situation within family, school/district, or cultural environment.
  • Write blogs, letters, emails to inform others about exhibition content that led to improved classroom teaching and learning.

Realize how China and the United States can benefit from learning about each other.
  • Identify attributes that are perceived problems for each educational system. 
  • Consider possible alternatives for each educational system based on examples from the other.

Evaluation
The most insightful conclusions may be reached by gathering responses through a variety of assessments that will take thoughtful preparation and labor-intensive analysis:
  1. Response cues for visitors to note impressions
  2. Interviews with teachers, parents, and other adults
  3. Letters solicited from students
