Global Classrooms

The Hall of Global Classrooms will be a popular feature, allowing guests to enter “real” classroom environments from representative nations around the world. Visitors will get to sit at authentic furniture (usually, but not always, desks), use books and learning tools, and interact with a teacher from that culture via video, or sometimes, even in person. Other videos will share scenes from classes in session, using captions to explain what’s being said and what’s going on.
Kiosks nearby will share information about the structures of schools by ages and levels and highlight the key educational beliefs and practices. In a companion section, visitors will be able to try on school uniforms and accessories from different parts of the world and see examples of what their typical school lunches are like.
“Schooling in America” will also have a walkthrough time, taking guests into rooms that represent four eras in the history of our nation.
