Maria Montessori: Honoring the Individual

motal maria montessori exhibit

This exhibition shone a light on a controversial yet innovative and highly respected individual from the field of education. The Montessori method worked in classrooms one hundred years ago and it continues to work in classrooms today. Eye-catching photos and touchable artifacts reinforced the idea that students learn well when they develop their individual talents in individual ways. Large photographs and a short video depicted children of different ages using the manipulatives that Montessori strongly supported in her teachings. A small library of articles and books included information on Montessori.
