Your Baby's Amazing Brain
The exhibition, Your Baby’s Amazing Brain is a 48-foot, traveling, walk-thru, interactive mobile exhibition designed to showcase the importance of developing minds in babies, infants and toddlers from birth up to age 5. |
What We Do
Readers will recall that The Museum of Teaching and Learning has been deeply involved in sending around a wonderful mobile exhibition that is high-tech (yes, computerized) and interactive. The 48-foot mobile has the title across the side: Your Baby’s Amazing Brain: Don’t Drop the Ball.
The fifteen stations within the air-conditioned vehicle are both exciting and provocative. Guests are given insights about their parenting styles by reflecting on a variety of situations. Then they decide what they would do. When visitors leave the vehicle, they stop to chat and fill out evaluations about their experiences. (We are very proud of their extremely positive reactions.) Then, as they leave they can take away some direct messages to remember (see below), plus a list of helpful websites. The following list includes key ways that parents and caregivers can build strong and lasting relationships with their young children. They help establish the groundwork for future social, emotional, and cognitive growth. In addition, they are actually messages for all of us in the grownup world to remember as we interact with our loved ones. Try them on for size. Remember that sometimes your “baby” can mean your spouse. See what you think! |
