You, You, You: We’re in love with you, you, you!

9/22/2023

If you were around in the 1950s, you may recall listening to “You, You, You,” one of the Ames Brothers’ hits. We at MOTAL are singing that tune today, feeling cheerful as the year ends.

Why? Well, for starters we are VERY grateful for our generous donors, new and old. You have sent in contributions through our safe, online portal and/or by snail mail to our roomy post office box. Like most museums, the majority of MOTAL’s budget comes from the largesse of individual benefactors, large and small. Just. Like. You.

Another one of the lines is “We will be so true, true, true,” and that is certainly the truth. Not only will be loyal to you as our friend, but we are delighted at the number of supporters who have stuck with us through our many years of exhibition development and travel. We are a charitable nonprofit, sharing our intriguing messages with visitors for free, so your loyal support is a lovely gift to student and adult learners.

How about this line—“We were meant for each other . . .”? You are someone who cares a great deal about education and the impact it holds for our nation’s future. You recognize our passion and read our online articles. You attend events and visit our exhibitions when they are installed near you. What a match! And yes, we know—you do not have to be a career educator to care deeply about learning.

And maybe you’ll agree that this is a good line: “You can make my dreams come true . . .” When the pages of the calendar flip from 2022 to 2023, MOTAL will finally bring its sixth major exhibition into being. Like no project before, it will be a mobile museum that will require fabulous engineering to be safe for visitors and capable of the journeys from venue to venue. Nevertheless, rents on the office and storage facility continue, insurance policies have premiums to pay, and vital bookkeeping and contract services must be maintained. All are vital to continuing our array of educational projects.

Anyway, you probably know by now that we can’t wait for Valentine’s Day to say, “We love you!”

Thanks for being great!
