Something to Crow About MOTAL Wins Two in a Row!

The new year has been good to The Museum of Teaching and Learning. True, the pandemic impacted MOTAL in many challenging ways: exhibitions are still in storage, everyone continues to work from home, and our usual ways of doing business have had to change. Nevertheless, the museum leaders continue to pursue the mission “We educate people about education.” New endeavors include publishing trustworthy e-blast articles (over 100!), producing education podcasts, and creating stories for our YouTube channel.


Now, thanks to opportunities that came from special Covid-19 funding, MOTAL has been awarded two new grants to support the continuing expenses of doing business.

• In March, a notification letter arrived to say, “We are pleased to share that you have been awarded funding through the County of Orange 4th District Small Business Grant Relief Program sponsored by Supervisor Doug Chaffee.” Funds were distributed through the organization called Charitable Ventures.
• In April, another letter arrived: “Congratulations for being selected for the California Small Business Covid-19 Relief Grant.” This award was granted because of MOTAL’s endeavors as a museum. The distributing agency was a company called Lendistry.

It’s great to have happy news to share! In addition, MOTAL has begun hearing from institutions that were going to be hosts for our traveling exhibitions during Spring of 2020. They will continue to keep promises and make plans, but visitations to their public spaces won’t be activated until Spring, 2022. So, for now, please continue to enjoy twice-weekly articles and various learning opportunities. And PLEASE keep sending your comments and compliments. They are always a delight!
