Exploring the past, present, and future of learning

MOTAL creates exhibits, publications, and activities about learning for the general public. Our recent exhibits have shown how education has been made accessible to previously overlooked populations.

Since our first traveling exhibit opened in Long Beach in 2007, interest among educators, community leaders, and the public has expanded, and our membership continues to steadily grow.

MOTAL is home to a growing collection of educational artifacts with stories waiting to be shared. These artifacts will be preserved for research and a continuous record of the changing world for future generations.

Mission

The mission of the Museum of Teaching and Learning is to explore, communicate, and celebrate how people learn.

Vision

MOTAL wants to provide informative, engaging, and interactive exhibits and activities that explore achievements and methods of education from the past, present, and future. The Museum intends to facilitate communication between and among students, families, educators, employers, and legislators and inspire its community to pursue further growth and development of education as a cornerstone of civil society.
